We are currently looking to hire seeking technologists, technicians, EITs (civil engineering or geotechnical engineering) and trained staff with experience for the following tasks.
Job includes working in the field, laboratory, and office, as needed, including during COVID-19 pandemic or other natural disasters. Use of proper PPE and Health and Safety regulations and guidelines (including also social distancing) MUST be followed. This position will include the responsibilities of a civil engineering technologist, technician, or EIT for the type of services conducted by Alpha Adroit . The candidates should have the ability to perform heavy physical effort, including work under variable or harsh environmental conditions, standing for extended periods, lifting weights of up to 50 pounds (lbs.), working long shift hours of up to 12 hours per day, and conduct repeated physical activities and moving equipment and tools with extreme diligence and care.
This position will require traveling and working across Alberta and may include traveling anywhere in Canada. Having a Class 5 driver's license is a MUST and the candidate might be required to drive company vehicles. Having a minimum of three (3) years of clear driving history in Canada is a MUST. Unless you have a truck and can insure it for commercial use (in this case you will receive mileage payment for works conducted for the Company), please do not apply to this position if you do not meet this requirement.

Requirements:

Having a class 5 Driver's license with clear abstract is a requirement

Having a minimum of three (3) years of clear driving history in Canada

Safety training requirements as required by Alpha Adroit

Living in Edmonton or relocating to Edmonton (or a nearby location) is a requirement

Technical Skills:

Visual classification of soils and rocks with reasonable accuracy is deemed an asset.

Experience in geotechnical design (such as shallow and deep foundations and retaining walls) is viewed as an asset.

Competence in using Geotechnical Engineering software is considered an asset (Geostudio, LPile, Geosystems, gINT, SR Wall)

Experience in soil compaction testing using a nuclear density gauge is deemed an asset.

Experience in concrete construction QA/QC is viewed as an asset.

Experience in laboratory testing of soils, rock, concrete, oil sand, tailings, and asphalt is viewed as an asset

Competency in using Auto CAD is considered an asset.

CCIL certificate for concrete testing or aggregate testing is viewed as an asset but is not mandatory
