What You will Do:

Electrical Architecture and Design: Define the electrical architecture, including equipment positioning, pathways, and technology choices. This includes selecting high and low voltage cables, circuit breakers, and various connectors.

Team and Activity Management: Provide operational management and technical guidance to the Schematics & Apparatus (S&A) and Electrical Harness Integration (EHI) teams (typically 5-10 people). Manage internal and external activities, including workload planning and risk assessments.

Design and Documentation: Lead and participate in design reviews and ensure the baselining and review of all project deliverables. Check & validate electrical schematic diagrams, wiring lists, bills of material (BOM), and 2D/3D drawings using electrical CAD tools (e.g., Catia EHI, See One).

Collaboration and Interface: Interface between project teams, the Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE), and other disciplines (Train Systems, RAMS, EMC experts, etc.). Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure proper implementation and industrialization of products.

Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support during the product introduction (PI), commissioning, and warranty phases. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures and recommend preventative and corrective actions.

Standards and Compliance: Ensure all design and project activities comply with Customer standards, regulatory frameworks, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) requirements, and railway safety principles.

Continuous Improvement: Drive technical Return of Experience (REX) and support continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical engineering domain.
Work Experience
- Education: A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (a master’s degree is a plus).

Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design or power distribution engineering, ideally within the railway sector. Proven experience in activity or team management is highly valued.
What You Will Bring:

Strong knowledge of electrical principles, including high voltage (HV), low voltage (LV), traction systems, and power system studies.

Hands-on experience with electrical CAD tools (e.g., See One, Catia EHI, E3 series, AutoCAD Electrical).

Familiarity with train systems, functions, and the industrialization/manufacturing processes of electrical harnesses.

Knowledge of railway safety and RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) principles.

Soft Skills: Strong communication skills (written and spoken English), leadership ability, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Benefits
Pay Range: $45000-$50000
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements:
This role is considered an on-site position located in Thunder Bay, ON, Canada
