Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Ophthalmology team. In this vital role, you will utilize advanced ultrasound technology to produce diagnostic images that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. Duties
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound and other ophthalmic imaging examinations on patients of all ages.
- Operate ultrasound equipment accurately to capture high-quality images for interpretation by physicians.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including imaging data and technical notes.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to discuss findings and assist in diagnosis.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and cleaned according to safety standards.
- Follow infection control protocols and adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
- Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Certification or registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS or equivalent) is required.
- Proven experience performing various ultrasound procedures with proficiency in image acquisition and interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to comfort and communicate effectively with patients.
- Attention to detail and precision in capturing diagnostic images.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to medical imaging equipment and patient care.
- Prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
