Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Liquor Assistant to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing excellent customer service, maintaining store organization, and ensuring the smooth operation of our liquor department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for retail sales, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities are a plus, as they enhance our capacity to serve diverse customers. Responsibilities
- Assist customers with their purchases by providing knowledgeable and friendly service
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the liquor section, including restocking shelves and displays
- Operate forklifts safely for inventory movement and stock replenishment (training provided)
- Handle cashiering duties accurately, including processing transactions and managing cash register operations
- Ensure compliance with all legal age restrictions and responsible alcohol sales policies
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging product displays attractively and according to company standards
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to uphold store safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and restocking to ensure product availability
- Provide support in general store maintenance as needed, including cleaning and organizing backstock areas
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales or customer service roles
- Ability to operate forklifts safely (training provided) for stock handling
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to better serve a diverse customer base
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation
- Capable of performing cleaning tasks efficiently to maintain store standards
- Experience with cashiering systems and cash handling procedures
- Basic maintenance skills for store upkeep and equipment troubleshooting
- Excellent organizational skills for managing inventory and store layout effectively
