Key Duties & Responsibilities:
-Supports leaders with grievance management, employee investigations, performance management, labour management meetings and collective agreement interpretation.
-Contributes to the development of labour relations best practices and supports leaders with promoting positive union-management relations.
-Ensures consistent application of company policies and maintains compliance with organizational standards, collective agreements, all relevant regulations, and/or legislative requirements.
-Supports all human resources functions including talent acquisition and management, labour and employee relations, occupational health and safety, learning and development and onboarding/offboarding.
-Supports implementation of human resources strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the overall business strategy and drive employee engagement.
-Coaches and guides internal stakeholders on matters pertaining to labour and employee relations while effectively managing employees within unionized/non-union environments.
-Supports leadership development of internal stakeholders to enable leaders to meet current and future business needs.
-Participates in committees and other meetings, maintains an accurate organized system of records management in accordance with privacy legislation and Company policy.
-Promotes a positive culture of diversity, inclusion and equity.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
-Minimum of 5+ years of progressive human resources experience in a unionized environment.
-Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements, grievance management and employment legislation.
-Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities.
-CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
-Demonstrated ability to provide advice and counsel while using the ability to influence.
-High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
-Proficiency with computerized documentation systems.
-Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.
