We are currently seeking a qualified Shop Technician to join our team at our Edmonton facility located at 15236-118 Avenue. This is a full-time, onsite position with opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic and expanding organization.
Position Overview
This is an entry- to mid-level role requiring strong technical expertise in hydraulic systems and automotive electrical repairs. The successful candidate will perform diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and assembly on towing and recovery equipment in a professional shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and service hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and related components on towing and recovery equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair automotive electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, and controls.
- Assemble, install, and maintain various makes and models of tow trucks, carriers, and recovery equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, parts used, and issues identified.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently and to high standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Journeyperson certification as an Automotive Service Technician or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (mandatory).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with hydraulic-powered equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems and repairs.
- Possession of personal tools (shop equipment provided).
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform demanding shop duties.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining clean and accurate records.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
