Position Summary
The Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Knowledge Management team (ABIKM) provides analytical support to programs/services across Quinte Health, as well as key strategic, quality, performance, and financial initiatives. The team is composed of experienced professionals who support the organization’s data needs, including reporting, visualization, analysis, and database management.
Quinte Health is seeking a motivated and analytically driven individual to join the Analytics, Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management (ABIKM) team in a temporary full-time capacity. This role will support clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making through advanced analytics, data exploration, and insight generation.
The successful candidate will work with complex healthcare data to identify trends, support performance improvement initiatives, and contribute to the organization’s evolving data and analytics environment. The role is well-suited to candidates with education or experience in data science, statistics, epidemiology, analytics, computer science, health informatics, or related disciplines who are interested in applying analytical methods in a healthcare setting.
This role provides an opportunity for a dynamic individual to contribute to the analytical aspects of quality improvement, innovation, collaboration and data-informed decision-making in support of exceptional patient care across the Quinte region.

Required
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Data Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Health Informatics, Biostatistics, Public Health, Engineering, Business Analytics, Science, etc.).
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working in a decision support, analytics, or database management environment.
- Understanding of statistical and analytical concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred
Preference may be given to candidates with experience or demonstrated interest in:
- Related co-op, internship, research or practical project experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with SQL and/or programming languages such as Python or R is considered an asset.
- Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.

- Data science or predictive analytics methodologies
- Applied research or evaluation work
- Quality improvement and operational analysis
- Applied healthcare analytics, population health, epidemiology, or statistical modeling
Duties
- Perform data analysis to support clinical, operational, and organizational priorities – with a primary focus on emergency department performance and flow.
- Assist with advanced analytics activities, including statistical analysis, trend analysis and forecasting, and predictive or exploratory analytics.
- Support the development of reports, dashboards, and analytical products.
- Interpret and communicate findings in a clear and actionable manner.
- Work with large and complex datasets from multiple healthcare systems.
- Identify data quality issues, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and technical staff to support ongoing analytics initiatives.
- Contribute to special projects related to performance measurement, patient flow, quality improvement, and operational planning.
- Engage in collaborative initiatives with key hospital departments such as IT, Finance, Clinical Informatics.
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives to foster continuous learning within the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
