Job Description
AutoShack is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our growing Ontario operations.
This is a fully onsite position based at AutoShack Headquarters in Kanata, Ontario.
AutoShack currently employs more than 160 team members across Ontario, with additional growth planned as we continue expanding our retail footprint throughout the province. Our team supports retail, distribution, warehouse, customer service, and Head Office Operations. As the organization grows, we remain focused on maintaining strong operational standards, consistent HR practices, regulatory compliance, and effective employee support systems across all locations.
The Human Resources Generalist will support retail locations and Head Office Operations throughout Ontario and will play an important role in recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, compliance, policy administration, and day-to-day HR support.
Responsibilities
- Support recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, onboarding, and new hire administration
- Prepare employment agreements, policy acknowledgements, and employee documentation
- Maintain employee files and HR records
- Support employee onboarding and orientation programs
- Assist with performance management documentation and disciplinary processes
- Support workplace investigations and employee relations matters
- Assist with attendance management, leaves of absence, and accommodation administration
- Support WSIB claims administration and return-to-work processes
- Assist with health and safety administration and record keeping
- Ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation and company policies
- Assist in developing and maintaining HR forms, policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks
- Support retail managers and Head Office Operations with day-to-day HR matters
- Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA)
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Experience supporting employee relations and performance management processes
- Experience maintaining employee records and HR documentation
- Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding activities
- Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Human Resources experience within retail, multi-location operations, warehousing, distribution, hospitality, or similar operational environments
- Experience supporting hourly workforce
- Experience with WSIB administration
- Experience assisting with workplace investigations
- Experience reviewing and maintaining HR policies, SOPs, and employee documentation
- CHRP designation considered an asset
Requirements
Applicants must have previous Human Resources experience within the Province of Ontario and demonstrate a strong understanding of Ontario employment legislation and workplace compliance requirements.
Candidates whose Human Resources experience has been obtained exclusively outside Ontario will not be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 – $70,000 per year

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
