Saga Resort Accommodations is looking for a highly-responsible, capable, construction minded Live-In operator with a strong customer service mindset.
This is a vital role for the accommodations, as the live-in operator, you are the "eyes and ears" of the property. We are looking for someone who takes true pride in the establishment's appearance and function, treating the property with the same level of care and responsibility as if it were their own. You must have a minimum of 2 years of practical experience in general construction, plumbing, and electrical, and HVAC repairs within a residential setting. You must be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Performing various building maintenance and repairs such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plaster/drywall, painting, setting up seasonal property items and equipment.
- Front desk and guest relations - answering phone calls at the front desk, respond to emails, and ensuring excellent guest support.
- Serve as the on-site contact for guest concerns and be on-call as expected; Expect to respond to after-hours and weekend emergency calls anytime.
- Perform general cleaning, landscaping, and snow removal. Snow removal of the parking lots and shoveling around the building and cottages is required in the winter.
- Summer pool operation: operate and oversee the outdoor pool and hot tub to ensure cleanliness, chemical balance and safety (CPO certification required and covered by employer).
- Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as reasonably requested by management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years building maintenance experience with knowledge in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing and HVAC skills.
- Strong knowledge of hand and power tools; able to work outdoors, lift up to 25 kg, and work at heights on ladders.
- Professional communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Valid G driver’s license
- Have your own tools/equipment
- Computer literacy is a must.
Schedule:
This role will be required to work on weekends + After hours when needed
Compensation
This is a full-time position with compensation based on experience and qualifications.
- Compensation: $26/hour + quarterly sales commission.
- Accommodation: A 1-bedroom on-site apartment (approx. 600 sq ft) attached to the office, with a kitchen and living area. Rent applies.
Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.
