Your impact
As an CAD Technician within our Bridge team , you’ll play a key role in delivering bridge and transportation structure projects that enhance connectivity and support communities across Ontario. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality design deliverables while supporting some of the region’s most impactful bridge rehabilitation and new-build infrastructure projects.
At Jacobs, you’ll be part of a team tackling complex bridge and structural design projects. You’ll contribute to the preparation of detailed drawings and models that support planning, design, and construction phases, helping bring vital infrastructure projects to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings/models for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and related transportation structures
Support engineering teams with design development, drafting, and document production
Work with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads , and other relevant design tools
Ensure drawings comply with project standards, client requirements, and industry regulations
Coordinate with Engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to resolve design issues
Assist in maintaining drawing databases and filing systems
Participate in quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency
Support the preparation of bridge rehabilitation, replacement, and structural detail drawings for transportation infrastructure projects
Here's what you'll need
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience in CAD drafting within bridge, structural, or transportation infrastructure projects
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads . Experience working on Ontario-based bridge and transportation projects (e.g., MTO standards)
Strong understanding of bridge drafting standards, structural detailing, and engineering drawing conventions
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, structural plans, and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
Familiarity with BIM workflows and digital project delivery
Experience supporting bridge rehabilitation and bridge replacement projects
Exposure to multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure projects involving structures, highways, and municipal infrastructure
Working knowledge of MTO structural design and drafting standards

70,000.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
120,000.00
The base salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $120,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
