The Opportunity - Temporary, Contract Instructor, Business Management - Olds Campus
The Werklund School of Agriculture Technology (WSAT) is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team to teach in our Business Management programs for the 2026-2027 academic year.
An Instructor teaches in discipline areas in which they have specific training, competence and expertise. Instructors are primarily responsible for the planning, preparation, and delivery of instruction and assessment of learners, with the ultimate goal of creating an exceptional and high-quality learning experience.

What you will be doing:

Plan and prepare for instruction, including course content development,
-
Delivery of instruction considering various learning styles and needs,
-
Assess and report on student progress,
-
Collaborate with other College departments to facilitate learner success (e.g. Accessibility Services),
-
Create a learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation,
-
Be accessible to students outside the classroom, providing ample periods of time for guiding and mentoring students in matters related to academic success,
-
Liaison with industry, government and community representative, as required,
-
Monitor classroom supplies and tools inventory,
-
Perform various tasks to support student success,
-
Apply technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience when appropriate (e.g. learning management system platforms, Google Suite, etc.),

Collaborate with other Instructors and Instructional Assistants within the related program(s) for coordination and aligning student learning experiences,
-
Perform other activities related to Instructional Assistants, coordinate activities within a program or programs, and participate in WSAT and broader College advancement.
What you bring to the role:

A post-secondary degree relevant to the subject matter of the course(s). An MBA or PhD in business, finance, economics, leadership, or related areas to business management is preferred.

Minimum 2 years work experience in a career occupation relevant to the subject matter of the course; or a combination of work experience and/or industry certification in a career occupation relevant to the subject matter of the course(s). Subject matter includes but is not limited to economics, risk management, business principles, asset valuation.

Knowledge and understanding of Canadian Agriculture is an asset,

Knowledge, skills, and/or training in teaching/instruction
