Job Summary
This role has been created by merging the Logistics Coordinator and Inventory Control positions into a single, integrated function. As an internal candidate stepping into this expanded role, you will be responsible for managing both the movement and storage of inventory across our supply chain — ensuring accurate stock levels, timely deliveries, and smooth coordination between suppliers, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders. Your existing knowledge of our operations will be a key advantage in driving continuity and improvement in this combined position.
Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Own the inventory cycle count program, root-cause variance analysis, and reconciliation to the Master file. Maintain inventory accuracy (location, lot, FIFO/LIFO) and lead adjustments with full audit trail. Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory; recommend disposition or re-slotting.Enforce labeling, bin integrity, and housekeeping (5S) standards
- Inbound/Outbound Logistics Coordination: Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and freight partners, ensuring timely delivery, proactive tracking, and prompt resolution of transportation issues or delays. Evaluate and optimize transportation routes, carrier selection, and shipping methods to improve service levels, reduce freight costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Monitor inbound raw material shipments and container movements, ensuring timely customs clearance, coordinating with brokers and suppliers, and expediting shipments through ERS services when required to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Logistics Analytics & Reporting: Develop and maintain operational dashboards (daily/weekly/monthly) to monitor outbound logistics KPIs, including on-time delivery performance, order cycle time, shipment accuracy, fill rate, carrier performance, freight costs, damage claims, and customer service metrics. Analyze outbound shipping trends and generate actionable insights to improve order fulfillment efficiency, dock scheduling, and overall delivery performance. Partner with logistics and transportation providers to optimize carrier performance, ensure appointment compliance, reduce detention and demurrage costs, and improve customer delivery experience. Lead root cause investigations and prepare Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) reports for delivery delays, shipping defects, customer complaints, and service failures, driving continuous improvement initiatives. Review and analyze monthly tariff and duty costs associated with outbound shipments, identify cost trends and variances, and prepare detailed reports for Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
- Safety, Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to all health & safety regulations, equipment pre‑use inspections, and incident reporting. Support internal/external audits and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with warehouse, procurement, sales, and operations teams to align inventory and logistics activities. Initiate and track purchase orders for operating supplies, packaging, and services; collaborate with Procurement and Accounts Payable. Support new product launches, promotions, or seasonal demand surges with proactive planning
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 2-3+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or supply chain operations
- Hands-on experience with WMS (receipts, put-away, moves, adjustments, cycle counts)
- Proficiency with Excel/Sheets (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for operational reporting
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, reliability, and a teamwork-oriented approach
- Ability to lift [50 lb. / 23 kg] and stand/walk for extended periods
- Regular exposure to warehouse environment (varying temperatures, noise, moving equipment)
- Use of PPE as required
- Flexibility from assigned shift work to ensure work completion
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Familiarity with import/export regulations and customs documentation
- APICS certification (CSCP or CPIM) is a plus
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
