LINE COOK AND DISHWASHER PART TIME POSITION
Jinsei Ramen is looking for a reliable Line Cook and Dishwasher to join our kitchen team in Centretown Ottawa.
This is a temporary position for approximately 1.5 years, as one of our current team members will be away due to pregnancy and maternity leave. However, there may be a possibility for this position to become permanent depending on business needs and performance.
We are looking for someone who is hardworking, clean, responsible, and comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment. This position requires flexibility between line cook duties and dishwasher duties, as both are important kitchen roles in our restaurant.
SCHEDULE
- Monday to Thursday : 10 am to 1 pm
- Friday : 4:45 pm to 9:45 pm
During the summer season, the schedule will mainly be morning shifts. During the winter season, when business becomes busier, there may be more hours available.
MAIN DUTIES
- Prepare ingredients and assist with line cooking
- Follow established recipes and instructions carefully
- Wash dishes and keep the dish area organized
- Keep the kitchen clean and sanitary
- Work efficiently during busy service
- Support other kitchen staff when needed
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm
- Must be available Friday from 4:45 pm to 9:45 pm
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred
- Must be able to work as both line cook and dishwasher when needed
- Must have good personal hygiene and clean work habits
- Must be able to work in a fast paced kitchen environment
- Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to follow instructions
- Basic to average English communication is required
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset
- Non smoker required (*****Due to the nature of our food preparation and close kitchen work, we strongly prefer a non smoker. Applicants must be able to maintain clean hands, clean clothing, and no strong smells during work.)
LOCATION
- Jinsei Ramen is located in Centretown Ottawa.
- Preference will be given to candidates who live within walking distance or have a short commute to Centretown.
