Minimum Requirements:
Seven or more years of operating experience in a SAGD facility or related experience in upgrading, refinery or the oil and gas industry
Experience in maintenance in the oil and gas industry is an asset
Experience in turnarounds as an operations or execution coordinator
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
3rd Class Power Engineering or Mechanical Trade Certification is preferred
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with turnaround coordinators, planning, scheduling, and engineering as part of the core turnaround team, contributing to turnover, execution, update, risk review, and HAZOP meetings
Develop and manage the turnaround scope of work, operations team structure, and detailed schedules, including notification reviews and schedule optimization.
Plan, communicate, and execute plant shutdown and startup procedures, coordinating closely with area and project teams
Prepare and oversee lockout plans and contractor support (e.g., de-gassing and nitrogen purging) to ensure safe and timely execution
Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement for future turnarounds through reviews and post-event evaluations
Location and other Key details:
You will work out of Suncor Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta
You will work a Monday to Friday 40 hour work week but would change to a shift to support the execution window
This position is safety sensitive
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is required
