POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the Mine Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient production. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with expertise in open pit mine operations and a solid focus on safety.
MAGINO MINE:
Argonaut Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a portfolio of operations in North America. Focused on becoming a low-cost, mid-tier gold producer, the Company’s newest gold mine, Magino is expected to become Argonaut’s largest and lowest cost mine. Commercial production at Magino has been achieved, which is the first step in transforming the Company as it enters a pivotal growth stage. The Company also has three additional operating mines including the Florida Canyon mine in Nevada, USA, where it is pursuing potential for redevelopment and additional growth, La Colorada mine in Sonora, Mexico and San Agustin mine in Durango, Mexico.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote and maintain strict adherence to all Health, Safety, Environmental and Community Relations standards.

Coordinate scheduling of operators and equipment to achieve production goals for tonnes, grade, stripping and equipment utilization in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner.

Review and monitor key operating targets including safety, attendance, productivity, quality control, and environmental compliance.

Assign, prioritize and supervise all mine operations tasks and activities with an emphasis on safety.

Collaborate with the training team to ensure access and participation for current and upcoming initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement.

Lead and mentor the operations team to ensure professional development and career growth opportunities.

Ensure accurate and timely documentation including reports and KPIs.

Participate in the detailed planning and setup for cross shifts.

Work under the direction of the Mine Operations Superintendent to maintain the pit dewatering system and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in open pit operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Possess a valid shift boss certificate.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Expertise in open pit mining operations, start-up and operational readiness experience would be an asset.

Solid knowledge of OHS standards and requirements.

Computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Office.

Strong interpersonal and management skills.

Detail-oriented, adaptable, energetic.

Extensive leadership capabilities with a successful track record of optimizing team performance and safety.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.

The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 14 days on / 14 days off (12-hour shifts).

Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
