Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and support the deli team while fostering a positive, productive work environment. Train and mentor team members, support their ongoing growth.
- Department Operations: Oversee daily deli operations, ensuring food is prepared, packaged, and presented in accordance with company standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of food and non-food items such as packaging and cleaning supplies, place orders, manage product rotation, and minimize waste.
- Merchandising: Ensure displays are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing throughout the department.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service and help create a welcoming shopping experience.
- Food Safety: Ensure department staff follows all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Financial Performance: Manage labour scheduling, department budgets, and margins while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a deli or similar food service role. Previous supervisory and/or management experience preferred.
- Financial Knowledge: Experience with scheduling, budgets, and margins.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a successful team.
- Organization: Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Focus: Passionate about providing top-tier customer experiences.
- Great attitude and a genuine love of food.
