A &A Excavation Ltd is seeking a Yard Supervisor for their operations in Surrey, BC.
We aren't looking for a desk manager. We need a Yard Supervisor who thrives in the high-paced, mud-and-gravel reality of an excavation yard. This position is the bridge between our sales-level technical expertise and our field-level operational grit.
You will oversee our equipment yard, heavy tires, manage fleet mobilization, and serve as the company’s internal expert on OTR (Off-The-Road) tire maintenance and lifecycle management.

Term: Full-Time, 3- year contract
Salary: $44.00 hourly / 40 hours per week
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate yard activities including load & unload operations, shipping & receiving, and order picking.
- Direct the daily activities of excavators, dozers, and lowbeds.
- Ensure equipment is ready, staged, and safely loaded for transport.
- Audit fleet tires, manage pressure programs, identify structural failures before they become blowouts, and manage vendor relationships for OTR repairs.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Manage warehouse distribution tasks utilizing warehouse management systems for inventory control.
- Oversee order fulfillment processes including heavy lifting, and ensuring accurate order picking.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, construction safety standards, and general warehouse safety.
- Lead a team of workers in maintaining organized yard areas, ensuring timely delivery and dispatch of goods.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment & coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Train new staff on safety procedures, and warehouse procedures.
- Collaborate with shipping & receiving departments to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and operational activities using warehouse management systems .
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail warehouse management or supervision within a retail distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance and troubleshooting of tires and heavy equipment.
- Experience with order fulfillment procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 systems, and shipping & receiving protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently; physically capable of handling demanding tasks in an outdoor yard setting.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and safety compliance.
- Construction or manufacturing experience is a plus for understanding complex operational environments.
- Valid certifications for forklift operation or crane operation are preferred but not mandatory. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team within a fast-paced environment that values safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
