Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Auto Mechanic to join our team. Open to all experience levels, from 1st to 4th year apprentices. The Apprentice Auto Mechanic will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to learn the intricacies of vehicle diagnostics, repair, and servicing, contributing to the efficient operation of our service department. Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing and repairing vehicles using various hand tools, power tools, and schematics.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Learn to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and vehicle systems to identify issues accurately.
- Support in welding, assembly, and other mechanical tasks as needed.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving parts or equipment during repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to uphold a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients about vehicle status when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Prior dealership experience or automotive repair knowledge is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical concepts.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to vehicle systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an interest in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work on vehicles for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Basic understanding of welding, assembly, and general maintenance procedures is advantageous.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification related to automotive technology is preferred. Pay: $22.00-$40.00 per hour
