Hipperson Construction is a Saskatchewan based General Contractor providing commercial and industrial construction services to a wide variety of clients across the prairie provinces.
As the company achieves consistent growth, we require a permanent, full-time HSE Manager to join our team of construction professionals. Hipperson Construction has been a COR certified company since 2007. This position is perfect for a self-starter who is looking to grow with the position as well as the company.
Specific Duties will include:
o Enforce compliance to the company safety program and provincial occupational, health and safety regulations.
o Create and maintain company health and safety policies, practices, and procedures.
o Keep current with changes in safety regulations and improvements to work practices, and advise site personnel accordingly.
o Maintain safety certificate data based for all employees.
o Assist in the pre-job safety planning including identify hazardous work situations and take corrective action to remedy the situation.
o Schedule and conduct regular site safety meetings, audits and inspections.
o Schedule inspections for safety equipment.
o Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used and used in a safe manner by trained personnel.
o Lead the investigation of all personal injury and property damage accidents and near misses. Including preparing of incident reports and recommendations for corrective action.
o Collect and compile safety statistics and prepare site safety reports for submission to the appropriate stakeholders.
o Participation in the Corporate OH and S Committee.
Qualifications:
o The preferred candidate will hold a nationally recognized safety officer designation.
o Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
o Have the ability to work well in a group and individually.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
o Valid driver’s license
o Site visits may require applicant to produce a criminal record check, and or a drug and alcohol test.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office is required. Experience with Procore is an asset.
o Site visits may require the applicant to stay overnight.
