Job Overview
Power Brown Architecture is looking to add an intermediate or junior level Interior Designer our St. John’s, Newfoundland office. This role is ideal for an emerging professional who is passionate about interior environments, material selection, and developing strong design and technical documentation skills within a collaborative architectural team environment.
This position will support project teams in the development of interior design concepts, assist in the preparation of design and construction documentation, and contribute to maintaining design standards and documentation quality. Work will include medical clinics, multi-family residences, commercial office interiors and retail projects in both the local Newfoundland market, Ontario and elsewhere in North America.
This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple project types while working alongside senior designers, project managers, and architects.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of interior design concepts, layouts, and presentations. Support the preparation of interior design drawings and documentation using Revit
Assist with finish selections, material palettes, and furniture specifications.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate interior design requirements into project documentation.
Coordinate interior layouts and design details within architectural models.
Prepare presentation materials, mood boards, and finish schedules.
Assist with permit submission packages and supporting documentation where required.
Participate in internal project coordination meetings.
Support site review documentation and construction administration tasks as required.
Contribute to quality control reviews and drawing revisions.
Skills
Bachelors Degree in Interior Design.
0–7 years of experience in an interior design or consulting office (co-op experience considered an asset).
Proficiency in Revit (required).
Basic understanding of interior construction assemblies and detailing.
Familiarity with the National Building Code of Canada (NBC 2020 considered an asset).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to take direction while working independently.
Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
