Equipment North is a full-service construction and mining equipment rental, sales and service company. We are dealer for many top brands, including Manitou forklifts/telehandlers, Genie aerial work platforms, Yanmar earth-moving equipment, Sullair diesel compressors and Gehl compact equipment. We also develop custom equipment for underground mining.
We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Level 3) to join the Service Team at our busy Timmins, Ontario location.
Duties may include:
- Maintaining rental and customer–owned equipment
- Lead major overhauls, rebuilds, and underground service work with minimal supervision
- Provides technical guidance, mentoring, and training for Heavy Equipment Mechanic Levels 1 and 2
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and developsbest practices for shop/field/underground work
- Creating and reviewing work orders
- Preparing service quotations
- Coordinate with supervisors, management, or customers on specialized repair projects
Key attributes include:
- Expert in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy machinery.
- Strong technical background
- Superior communication skills
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- Experience in underground mining (preferred)
- Computer literacy
Additional compensation will be paid for the following conditions/qualifications:
- HDEM Red Seal Certification
- Out-of-town work
- Underground work
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
