Overview
Patriot Forge Corporation is the largest custom open-die forging company in Canada and a leader in the Global Market. Patriot has long-term partnerships with global leaders in Gas Compression, Power Generation, Fossil Fuels and Nuclear Power.
We are currently seeking an experienced Afternoon Plant Supervisor to oversee our afternoon shift at our Brantford facility. The Afternoon Plant Supervisor will be responsible for the Supervision and safety compliance of 4 departments ensuring the continual manufacturing process throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide leadership to all employees involved in Manufacturing in order to effectively meet company goals and objectives
- Manage expectations as set out by the Plant manager, Production Manager and in conjunction with the departmental supervisors
- Assign jobs according to priorities in order to maintain scheduled completion dates, utilizing the most appropriate machines and employees for efficient production
- Coach and motivate employees in the performance of their jobs and look for new ways to continually improve operations, through focused efforts and initiatives
- Work with the lead hands and process technicians to drive continuous improvement
- Orients, trains and instructs all employees in the safe and efficient performance of their duties
- Promotes, maintains, and enforces a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in accordance with legislative requirements and Company standards
- Coordination of maintenance efforts to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Provide input into employees annual performance evaluations as well as effective corrective counseling if necessary
- Provide oversight and support to all departments to ensure adherence to set out schedules and priorities
- Manage throughput effectively by ensuring that performance standards are met in day to day operations
- Add comply with H&S management program to future job postings.
Experience
- College diploma or technical experience
- Must have 5 years of proven experience as a department head, supervisor or lead hand as well as being able to work any shift.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and their application would be an asset.
- Experience with manual and CNC milling, large engine lathes, and saws is considered an asset
