Paisano's Italian Garden Cafe has been a beloved staple of the Willowdale community for over 60 years. We pride ourselves on our rich history, authentic Italian cuisine, and the long-standing relationships we’ve built with our loyal, mature clientele. We are currently looking for a dedicated and versatile Server to join our team and uphold the high standards of service our guests have come to expect.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a hospitality professional who is not only a skilled server but a true "team player" willing to dive into all aspects of the dining room operations. You should be someone who values tradition, understands the nuances of fine service, and thrives in an environment where attention to detail is paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Expert Tableside Service: Provide refined, attentive service to a regular and mature guest base.
- Comprehensive Knowledge: Confidently discuss Italian cuisine, wine pairings, and spirits.
- Beverage Craft: Efficiently pour beer and wine, and prepare simple, classic cocktails.
- Operational Support: Handle essential "behind-the-scenes" tasks including bussing tables, polishing cutlery and glassware to a spot-free finish, and plating desserts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and floor staff to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced or fine-dining serving environment.
- Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of Italian cuisine, wines, and spirits is essential.
- Versatility: A hands-on attitude and the ability to pivot between serving, bussing, and light prep (desserts/drinks).
- Professionalism: Polished communication skills and a demeanor suited for a sophisticated clientele.
- Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
