Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Handyman/Woman to join our facilities maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and functionality of our manufacturing or facility environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, along with leadership qualities to oversee maintenance activities and coordinate with other departments. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS systems, welding, and schematics is highly desirable. Duties
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrication as needed to support equipment repair or modifications
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work order management and documentation
- Lead small maintenance projects, supervise junior staff or contractors when necessary
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility protocols during all maintenance activities
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Assist in emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and repairs performed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments with mechanical knowledge
- Supervising experience preferred, with demonstrated leadership skills in team coordination
- Strong electrical experience including troubleshooting circuits and working with schematics
- Skilled in welding, plumbing, and general repair techniques
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems
- Experience using CMMS software for maintenance management
- Ability to read technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings
- Excellent communication skills in English for effective teamwork and documentation
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to facilities maintenance and industrial environments
- Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving
This role requires a dedicated professional capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our operations team, ensuring the longevity and reliability of our facilities.
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
