Appliance Repair Technician (Independent Contractor)
B&M Canada Appliances is looking for experienced Independent Contractor Appliance Repair Technicians to join our growing team.
We provide a steady flow of customer leads and service calls. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled technicians who operate their own business and want to increase their workload without spending time and money on advertising and customer acquisition.
Compensation
- 40% commission per completed job

Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations using your own vehicle
- Diagnose residential appliance issues
- Explain repair options and provide estimates to customers
- Sell and collect diagnostic and labor fees
- Source and purchase required parts
- Complete repairs professionally and efficiently
- Test appliances after repair to ensure proper operation
- Maintain clear communication with customers and office staff
- Submit service reports, invoices, photos, and repair documentation as required
- Salvage and recover usable parts when applicable
Appliances Serviced
Experience repairing one or more of the following:
- Refrigerators
- Freezers
- Washers
- Dryers
- Dishwashers
- Ovens
- Ranges
- Cooktops
- Microwaves
- Ice makers
Contractor Requirements
Applicants must:
- Operate their own registered business/company
- Carry valid Commercial General Liability Insurance
- Have their own tools and diagnostic equipment
- Have reliable transportation
- Have a smartphone with internet access
- Have experience diagnosing and repairing household appliances
- Be professional, punctual, and customer-focused
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada
Important Contractor Terms
- This position is for an Independent Contractor, not an employee.
- Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, licenses, permits, and business expenses.
- Contractors are fully responsible and liable for the quality, workmanship, and results of all repairs performed.
- Contractors must carry and maintain their own insurance coverage throughout the duration of their engagement.
- Contractors are responsible for any damages, claims, or liabilities arising from their work.
- B&M Canada Appliances provides customer leads and dispatch services but does not supervise day-to-day repair methods or business operations of the contractor.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of appliance repair experience
- EPA certification (if applicable)
- Experience with sealed-system repairs
- Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical failures
- Strong sales and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
