About The Position
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Junior Accounting Clerk will support the day-to-day operations of the accounting department by assisting with billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, deposits, and administrative accounting functions. Responsibilities include preparing monthly pre-bills, processing invoices through electronic billing platforms, managing deposits, reconciling corporate credit card statements, maintaining petty cash, processing vendor payments, organizing accounting documentation, and providing backup support to the accounting team as needed. This role plays an important part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the firm's financial operations.
The Requirements
- Accounting diploma or certificate completed or currently in progress
- 1–2 years of accounting experience, or a combination of post-secondary accounting education and practical experience
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles with exposure to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Previous office or accounting experience within a professional services environment is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience with ProLaw or other legal accounting software is considered an asset
Compensation
- Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience
