Position Overview
The Sieve Technician Summer Student supports the Quality Assurance team by assisting with aggregate sampling, sieve analysis, and material testing to ensure compliance with project and industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in construction materials, civil engineering, or quality control to gain hands-on industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform sieve analysis and basic aggregate testing in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
- Collect and prepare aggregate samples from pits
- Record and maintain accurate testing data and reports
- Assist QA staff with material inspections and quality documentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of testing equipment and work areas
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Support field operations and other laboratory duties as assigned
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, Geology, or a related program
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift materials and work in a physically active environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Survey experience is considered an asset
