Human Resources Generalist

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, benefits, immigration programs, temporary foreign worker processes, grants, workers compensation, and office administration. The role ensures compliance, accurate documentation, and strong support for employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support human resources programs across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee records management
- Manage recruitment activities for non-management roles, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checking and employment contract preparation
- First point of contact regarding non-management employee relations concerns
- Prepare and manage employment-related documentation and provide HR data and support to managers and employees
- Support payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS data accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Monitor workplace health and safety incidents, including claims management and return-to-work coordination
- Manage immigration and work authorization processes, including government program applications, documentation, travel arrangements and audit support
- Administer employee benefit programs, grants, and sponsorships, including eligibility tracking, claims, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal audits, and external regulatory requirements
- Provide general office administration support, including facilities coordination, ordering office supplies and employee engagement initiatives
- Participate in special projects and provide operational coverage as required

Education and experience:
- Post secondary education with a degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline
- CPHR designation or actively working towards CPHR
- 2-4 years years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, farming, or aquaculture related field is considered an asset
- Previous experience with Provincial, immigration and temporary foreign worker programs is an asset

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
