Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Greenhouse Worker / Cashier to join our team and help provide an excellent experience for our customers during our fall season. This position is primarily customer service and cashier-based, while also assisting with the daily operations of our greenhouse.
Our Fall 2026 season lasts approximately one month (mid August - end of September), making it the perfect opportunity to see if working at our greenhouse is the right fit for you. Employees who enjoy the work and are a good fit for our team will have the opportunity to return for our Spring 2027 season, with the potential for long-term seasonal employment and future management opportunities.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude, and be willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team.
Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse environment
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
- Operate the cash register and process customer purchases accurately.
- Assist customers with selecting plants and answering basic questions.
- Water and care for plants to ensure they remain healthy and presentable for sale.
- Restock displays and maintain an organized, attractive sales area.
- Help load customer purchases when needed.
- Perform routine cleaning and general maintenance throughout the greenhouse.
- Use basic math skills for cash handling and inventory-related tasks as needed.
Experience
- Prior experience in customer service, retail, gardening, or greenhouse operations is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Cash handling experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of plants or gardening is an asset but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in a physically active environment.
