About the Role
We are seeking someone who can create a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment while helping our children stay on track academically and enjoy learning. The ideal tutor is patient, organized, creative, and experienced with elementary-aged children.
This role would involve supporting daily homeschool learning, reinforcing lessons, assisting with assignments and reading, and helping build confidence and independence in learning.
Responsibilities
- Teach and support curriculum-based learning for Kindergarten and Grade 2
- Assist with reading, writing, math, science, and other elementary subjects
- Create engaging and age-appropriate learning activities
- Help maintain a consistent homeschool schedule and routine
- Provide encouragement, motivation, and positive reinforcement
- Adapt teaching methods to each child’s learning style
- Communicate progress and observations with parents
- Foster a safe, respectful, and faith-friendly learning environment
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience tutoring or teaching elementary-aged children
- Familiarity with homeschool environments or individualized learning
- Patient, nurturing, and energetic personality
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Background in education is an asset
- Familiarity with Christian-based education is preferred
- First Aid/CPR and vulnerable sector check are assets
Schedule
Flexible schedule — ideally weekday daytime hours.Part-time with potential for long-term arrangement.
