Job Description:
Letellier Country Market is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare hot meals, ready-to-eat food items, sandwiches, salads and other prepared foods for our grocery store customers. The Cook will help maintain consistent food quality, safe food handling practices and clean kitchen operations.
Main Duties:
Prepare and cook meals, individual dishes and prepared food items. Prepare hot meals, sandwiches, salads and other ready-to-eat food products. Plan and prepare daily food items based on customer demand and store needs. Follow recipes, portion control and food quality standards. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment. Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of food products. Clean kitchen, food preparation areas, equipment and work surfaces. Follow food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures.
Requirements:
High school education is preferred. Previous cooking, kitchen or food preparation experience is required or strongly preferred. Knowledge of food safety procedures is an asset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs. Must be reliable, punctual and willing to work in a rural grocery store environment.
Pay: $17.20 per hour
