The successful candidate will work directly with our experienced Health & Safety Supervisor, gaining practical experience and professional mentoring while preparing for increasing responsibility within the Health & Safety Department.
During your first year, you will receive structured on-the-job training in:
- WorkSafeBC legislation and regulatory compliance
- Workplace inspections and hazard assessments
- Incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Safe Work Procedure (SWP) development
- Occupational Health & Safety program administration
- WorkSafeBC inspections, orders, and professional correspondence
- Joint Health & Safety Committee administration
- Employee Health & Safety orientation and training
- Safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manufacturing Health & Safety best practices

Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Health & Safety Supervisor, you will:
- Assist in maintaining Bulldog Bag Ltd.'s Occupational Health & Safety Program.
- Conduct workplace inspections and participate in hazard assessments.
- Assist with workplace incident and near-miss investigations.
- Prepare professional reports, documentation, and correspondence for WorkSafeBC.
- Maintain Health & Safety records, training records, and regulatory documentation.
- Assist in developing and updating Safe Work Procedures and Health & Safety policies.
- Coordinate employee Health & Safety orientations and training.
- Assist with Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and documentation.
- Support safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
QualificationsRequired
- Approximately one year of Occupational Health & Safety experience.
- Previous Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
- Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong report writing and professional correspondence skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
Preferred
- Experience working with WorkSafeBC documentation or inspections.
- Experience participating in workplace inspections and incident investigations.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 (or willingness to obtain).

Bulldog Bag Ltd. is located in Gloucester Industrial Estates in Langley, BC.
Please note that there is no direct public transit service to our facility. Applicants must have reliable personal transportation and be able to commute to and from work each day.
