The Opportunity
As a Commercial Journeyperson Electrician, you will join an experienced crew completing a major institutional project in Prince Albert. You will apply your commercial construction experience to electrical installations that must meet detailed project specifications, applicable codes and the quality standards expected on a large, active job site.
Your experience will be called on when field conditions change, installations require a practical solution or apprentices need direction. You will carry assigned work through to completion and contribute to a crew where safety, accountability and quality workmanship are reflected in how the job gets done.
Key Responsibilities
As the Commercial Journeyperson Electrician, you will:
- Complete commercial electrical installation, maintenance and troubleshooting according to project drawings, specifications and applicable electrical codes.
- Review project requirements and confirm that installations meet the required safety, quality and customer standards.
- Follow all Flyer Electric and client safety policies, permits and site procedures, completing required risk assessments before work begins and as conditions change.
- Use materials, tools and equipment efficiently while completing assigned work according to project schedules and quality requirements.
- Identify and resolve field issues, bringing concerns forward when changes or additional direction are required.
- Prepare accurate daily progress reports, safety documentation and labour, equipment and material records.
- Participate in daily planning meetings, toolbox talks, site orientations and mandatory training.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, customers, site personnel and other trades throughout the project.
- Provide safe and effective guidance to other personnel when required.
- Guide apprentices in the proper use of tools, materials and commercial electrical installation methods.
Qualifications
As the Commercial Journeyperson Electrician, you will possess the following qualities:
The Essentials (Hard Skills):
- Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate in the Construction Electrician trade.
- Valid Saskatchewan Electrical Licence.
- 5+ years of experience in the electrical trade, including hands-on experience on commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical installations, applicable codes and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driving abstract.
- Physical ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull, bend, climb, squat, reach and kneel.
- Ability to successfully complete required drug and alcohol testing.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.

- Arrive prepared, complete assigned work and follow through on their responsibilities.
- Apply sound judgment when field conditions change or installations do not match the plans.

- Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout every stage of the installation.
- Share their knowledge with apprentices and support the crew as project demands change.
