About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on technical leader to help shape AI strategy, platform architecture, and product development across a group of companies.
This role is responsible for translating business needs into clear technical direction, guiding AI-enabled product development, and helping teams build scalable, reliable, and commercially viable systems. While AI will be a core focus, this role also extends across platform architecture, product execution, delivery discipline, and technical decision-making.
The ideal candidate can lead technical conversations, guide architecture decisions, mentor developers, and work closely with business and product stakeholders to move ideas from MVP to production-ready solutions.
You'll split your time across multiple companies so comfort with context-switching, varied priorities, and different stakeholder environments is key.

Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Architecture
· Lead the design and implementation of AI-enabled systems, including LLM-based applications, AI workflows, automation, and product integrations
· Define practical AI architecture, including data flows, system integrations, model usage, prompt workflows, and deployment approach
· Establish AI guardrails, testing practices, evaluation methods, and quality standards
· Improve AI output quality through testing, feedback, iteration, monitoring, and optimization
· Identify risks related to AI quality, data handling, privacy, cost, reliability, and performance
Product & Delivery Leadership
· Translate business goals into clear product requirements, technical direction, MVP scope, and implementation priorities
· Support roadmap planning, backlog refinement, delivery sequencing, and release readiness across teams
· Lead structured technical discussions around scope, architecture, trade-offs, and execution
· Balance speed to market with long-term scalability, maintainability, and product quality
Technical Leadership & Team Development
· Mentor and guide engineering teams, particularly junior and mid-level developers
· Provide hands-on support in system design, debugging, implementation planning, and technical problem-solving
· Review technical designs and implementation approaches to improve quality and consistency
· Elevate development standards, including testing, code quality, documentation, and maintainability
· Help build internal technical capability and reduce reliance on external advisors or vendors over time
AI Quality, Safety & Performance
- Define and refine AI guardrails, prompt strategies, and system behavior expectations
- Lead iterative improvement cycles based on testing, feedback, and real-world usage
- Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, and data governance requirements
Business & Cross-Company Alignment
- Align AI initiatives with overall business goals and measurable outcomes
- Contribute to pricing models, usage strategies, and commercialization of AI products
- Support leadership teams in understanding trade-offs between technical decisions and business impact
Cross-Company Leadership
· Partner with executives, product leaders, and engineering teams across multiple businesses
· Facilitate alignment between technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Support leadership teams in understanding technical trade-offs, implementation complexity, cost drivers, and scalability considerations
· Contribute to discussions around AI product packaging, usage models, commercialization, and go-to-market readiness
· Act as a trusted technical partner on AI opportunities, risks, investments, and implementation decisions
Qualifications
Required
· 4–10 years of experience in software engineering, AI-enabled product development, platform development, or technical product leadership
· Experience leading technical conversations with engineers, product stakeholders, and business leaders
· Practical experience designing, integrating, or deploying AI-enabled systems, especially LLM-based applications, automation, AI workflows, or AI features within business products
· Strong software architecture judgment, including system design, APIs, data flows, integrations, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
· Proven ability to translate business goals into technical requirements, MVP scope, product priorities, and implementation plans
· Experience mentoring developers, reviewing technical designs, guiding implementation decisions, and improving engineering standards
· Familiarity with AI quality practices such as prompt iteration, guardrails, evaluation, testing, monitoring, and feedback-based improvement
· Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
· Experience working in early-stage, MVP, or 0-to-1 product development environments
· Experience working across multiple teams, business units, clients, or portfolio companies
· Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and modern deployment practices
· Exposure to RAG, vector databases, AI agents, model evaluation, AI observability, or workflow automation tools
· Experience contributing to AI product commercialization, pricing discussions, usage models, or go-to-market planning
