As an RVT at Loch Lomond Veterinary Hospital, you will assume a pivotal role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the overall well-being of our patients. Your primary responsibilities will encompass, but are not confined to:
- Assisting veterinarians during surgeries, diagnostics, and other medical procedures.
- Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as per veterinarians' instructions.
- Conducting laboratory tests and analyzing the results.
- Collecting and preparing samples for diagnostic tests.
- Performing dental cleanings and aiding in dental procedures.
- Monitoring anesthesia and overseeing patient recovery.
- Providing nursing care and closely monitoring hospitalized patients.
- Educating clients on various topics, including preventive care, medication administration, and nutrition.
- Maintaining precise and detailed medical records.
Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in Canada.
- Profound knowledge of veterinary medical procedures and terminology.
- Proficiency in conducting laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and cytology.
- Experience in anesthesia monitoring and patient care.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners.
- Familiarity with Idexx Neo or other veterinary software is a valuable asset.
Experience:
- Veterinary Technicain: 1 year (preferred)
Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
