Specializing in Geotechnical, Construction Inspection & Materials Testing, Environmental/Excess Soil, and Hydrogeology engineering disciplines, we cater to diverse needs across public and private sectors.
We are actively looking for someone to join our busy and growing construction inspection and materials testing team!
General Responsibilities:
- CAD drafting and design (retaining walls, site plans, details, etc.).
- Surveying and layout using GPS equipment.
- Conduct thorough construction inspections, including retaining wall inspections and testing, ensuring stringent quality control/assurance on various projects.
- Perform roofing and building envelope inspections to maintain structural integrity.
- Conduct field testing of concrete, mortar, and grout as per CSA/CCIL requirements.
- Conduct laboratory testing on soils and concrete materials.
- Perform field compaction testing of soils and asphalt.
- Collect on-site soil and asphalt samples for laboratory testing.
- Collaborate closely with project engineers and client site representatives.
- Communicate test results effectively with clients, contractors, and team leaders.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and correspondence.
- Thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Possess a College Diploma in Geotechnical, Civil, Geological, or equivalent field.
- Eligible for or actively pursuing C. Tech. or C.E.T. designation through OACETT (considered an asset).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is considered an asset.
- Exhibit a "Safety-First" mindset.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel locally and work extended hours when necessary.
Additional Information:
This position involves work-related travel; therefore, a valid driver’s license, insurance (additional rider insurance required for carrying compaction equipment), and personal vehicle are required. Work-related travel expenses will be compensated accordingly. CVD offers a competitive remuneration package, including an annual salary and profit-sharing, along with comprehensive benefits.
