We are currently looking for an Intermodal Dispatch Coordinator to join Radiant and be part of our dynamic team. This posting is for an existing vacant position within the organization
TEMPORARY HYBRID WORK MODEL: Work in the office at 1280 Courtneypark Drive E, Mississauga every Monday Wednesday and Thursday. Work from home Tuesday and Fridays. NOTE: Work in the office full-time starting 2027
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze booking information from the customer to ensure all information is provided and accurate. Follow up with the customer or Sales for any missing information.
- Enter orders in the transportation system. Ensure information is accurate.
- Verify alternative routings in the transportation system based on customer quotes and select the most cost-effective route. If no alternative routing is available, notify the manager.
- Source equipment based on the most cost-effective routings to satisfy customer requirements.
- Source draymen and negotiate best rates and service.
- Book pick up appointments with the shipper. Find out any additional special pick up requirements.
- Communicate to the customer on updates on the pick-up status and of any issues that may delay load movement.
- Update customer, plant, warehouse and customs broker details in the transportation system.
- Monitor the pickup to ensure customer and Draymen requirements are met. Obtain paperwork (bill of lading, customs documents) for load movement if required.
- Prepare and transmit rail instructions for movement and maintain rail patterns. Keep on top of changing rail requirements.
- Trace containers and schedule and monitor deliveries and accessorial charges.
- Obtain customs paperwork from the customer on loads that require customs clearance. Forward the paperwork to the Customs Broker, request rail manifest from the Rail if necessary and work with the customs broker and the customer to aid clearance and minimize delays.
- Manage accessorial and equipment charges. Provide follow up communication to the customer, Railroad, Draymen, Invoicing and Accounts Payable.
- Other duties and assignments as required.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Minimum 2 years intermodal operations experience.
- Complete understanding intermodal procedures within North America.
- Strong knowledge of North American geography.
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. customs procedures is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word).
- Intermediate computer skills required in Excel (i.e., formulas, filter, sort).
- Working knowledge of transportation management software (e.g., TEDS, etc.).
- Experience with customer website portals is an asset.
- REZ1 experience is an asset.
- Working knowledge with rail websites, i.e., CN, CP, UP.
- Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely internal and external customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize their day.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a team environment.
