We are seeking a dedicated Poultry Farm Worker to join our team at Van Zeeland Farms Ltd. in Teeswater, Ontario, Canada. This role is vital in supporting our daily operations and maintaining the high standards of our farm. The Poultry Farm Worker will contribute to the care of our livestock and the upkeep of farm equipment.
Job Duties:
-Feed and water poultry according to farm schedules and procedures
-Monitor bird health and behaviour and report signs of illness or injury
-Collect, grade, and pack eggs safely and efficiently
-Clean poultry barns, cages, nesting areas, and workspaces
-Remove manure and maintain sanitary conditions throughout the farm
-Operate and maintain feeding, watering, ventilation, and egg collection systems
-Assist with moving and handling birds when required
-Maintain proper barn temperatures, ventilation, and lighting systems
-Follow all farm biosecurity, animal welfare, and health and safety procedures
-Wash and disinfect equipment and work areas regularly
-Assist with inventory, feed deliveries, and farm supply organization
-Perform minor repairs and assist with general property and building maintenance
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm buildings, yards, and surrounding property
-Assist with outdoor farm labour including picking stones from fields and maintaining laneways and work areas
-Operate basic farm equipment and tools safely
-Keep accurate production and health records as directed
-Work efficiently in a team environment and independently when required
Job Requirements:
-Must be able to work full-time hours, including mornings, weekends, and holidays
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-Ability to work as part of a team
-Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working in barn conditions (dusty, humid and odours)
-Applicants must have a minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of hands-on poultry farm experience. (Please provide any relevant reference letters with your application)
-Must live within reasonable commuting distance of the farm and have reliable day to day transportation to and from the job site.

Wage & Vacancies:
$17.60 per hour working full time with an average 35-45 hours per week.
