Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Technician / Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations within our automotive service center. This leadership role requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in automotive repair, team management, and customer service. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest quality of work, maintain safety standards, and foster a productive work environment. Previous dealership experience is highly preferred, along with expertise in various repair techniques and tools.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of automotive technicians to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality repairs
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicle makes and models
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics for vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians to develop their skills
- Manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for daily operations
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and estimates
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure proper documentation of all repairs performed
- Support shop operations by coordinating workflow, prioritizing tasks, and troubleshooting issues as they arise
Skills
- Extensive dealership experience with a solid understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures
- Proficiency in welding, schematics reading, assembly, and mechanical knowledge
- Strong familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment used in automotive repair
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts handling
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex repairs
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about vehicle issues and solutions
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and motivate staff
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
