Carpenter — Premium Residential Deck Builder, North Toronto
Kerta Construction builds high-end decks, fences, and outdoor living spaces in Toronto's best neighbourhoods. Our clients expect precise, careful work, and we deliver it. We are looking for a dependable carpenter who holds themselves to that same standard and wants a steady place to do good work and grow.
This role is for you if:
You take real pride in getting the details right. You notice the things other people miss. A clean reveal, a tight mitre, a level run, picture framing done properly. Quality is how you work, not something you have to be reminded about.
You show up. Every day, on time, ready to work. You do what you say you will. We value reliability and consistency above everything else. If you are the kind of person people can count on, you are the kind of person we want.
You are happy to build and let us handle the rest. You take direction, you do your part well, and you are easy to have on a job site. We handle the clients, the scheduling, and the paperwork so you can focus on the work in front of you.
You want to settle in and grow. You are looking for a steady home with an employer who will invest in you, not a stepping stone. Over time, there is a clear path to grow into a lead carpenter role for the right person, and we are happy to develop that at the right pace.
The honest version:
This is premium work held to a high standard, and we hold it there every day. Some of the work is detailed and demanding. Some of it is the unglamorous grind that any real build requires. The season runs spring through late fall with a layoff in the off-season. If you ski, travel, or have a winter plan, that rhythm suits the work. If you need year-round work, this is not the right spot and we would rather be upfront now.
What you bring:
- Solid residential carpentry skills, framing through finish
- Experience on decks, fences, or similar exterior work an asset
- Apprenticeship training or equivalent hands-on experience
- A steady, reliable work ethic you can point to
- A valid driver's licence and your own hand tools
- A good attitude and a willingness to learn our way of doing things
What we offer:
- Pay of $32 to $38 per hour depending on experience
- Performance bonuses tied to completing jobs on time and to standard
- Steady seasonal work with the same team year over year
- Investment in your growth and a path to a lead role over time
- A small, quality-focused company where reliable, careful people are valued and kept
To apply, send a short note about your experience and a few photos of the coolest thing you have ever buil
