Position Title: Recreationist
Type: Temporary Full-time Adult Day Program
Compensation: $27.66 – $28.09/hour as per collective agreement

About the Role:
As a Recreationist, you will plan, organize and conduct group and individual programs for the residents, while also following guidelines regarding referrals or instructions signed by the Medical Director and/or professional therapists. Your work may also involve liaising with outside agencies/other recreationists, professional organizations to promote growth of the role. Attention to detail is imperative, as you will be recording and reporting resident progress, establishing program priorities, scheduling, and program evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Must have a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university.
- Has the ability to handle physical task demands and have good working knowledge of Peterson-Gunn theory of Activation/Recreation.
- 1 to 3 years experience in a geriatric’s environment or equivalent of qualifications and experience.
