Summary – Quality Inspector
The Quality Inspector ensures customer requirements are achieved through inspection of mechanical parts and fabric parts and assemblies. Reporting to the Corporate Quality Manager, the successful candidate will evaluate whether the Company’s parts, assemblies, and product comply with engineering requirements and quality standards through detailed inspections.
Responsibilities:
· Performs incoming inspections of components, products, and assemblies
· Performs in-process inspection of product fabricate or assembled in Production
· Performs final inspections of product prior to shipment to customers
· Maintaining receiving inspection log
· Initiates deficiencies in the Nonconformance Log
Health and Safety Responsibilities
· Reporting hazards/unsafe work conditions.
· Following all PPE/Safe work instructions.
· Understand responsibilities related to Provincial legislation.
Environmental Responsibilities
· Work to achieve Environmental objectives.
· Work to ensure compliance obligations are in compliance.
· Understand environmental aspects and how they impact the environment.
· Report environmental concerns.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
· A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on inspection experience in a mechanical assembly
manufacturing environment.
· Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
· Good Knowledge of calibration
· Good Knowledge of Measurement Tools
· Understands difference between accuracy and precision
· Understands traceability for material, and products
· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English
· Good computer skills (MS Office, SharePoint)
· Good attention to detail and visual acuity
· ASQ CQI is an asset
