Mill Maintenance - General Foreman
Location: Near Likely, BC (This is not a fly-in/fly-out camp)
Schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off – 10-hour shifts
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Mount Polley Mining Corporation (MPMC) is currently seeking a Mill Maintenance General Foreman with a strong technical maintenance background to join our team. Reporting directly to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, this position is responsible for leading all aspects of mill and crusher maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Mill Maintenance and Crusher Maintenance Supervisors
- Support troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions
- Develop and revise standard work practices to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with all company policies and procedures
- Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within scope
- Collaborate with other departments to prioritize and coordinate maintenance support
- Recommend staffing levels and participate in the recruitment and hiring process
- Conduct annual performance reviews and support employee development
- Assist in performance management and resolution of disciplinary issues
- Provide oversight and guidance to the maintenance planning team
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in a mining environment
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Trade Qualification
- Proven leadership with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Extensive experience with rod and ball mills, gyratory, and cone crushers
- Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Proficient with computer systems and software; SAP experience considered a strong asset
