Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the preparation and delivery of high-quality food for banquet events while assisting in the efficient operation of the banquet kitchen. The Banquets Cook 2 prepares menu items according to established recipes, maintains food quality and safety standards, and contributes to a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food for banquet events.
- Prepare ingredients and complete assigned prep work following recipes and production standards.
- Assist with banquet plating, buffet setup, and food replenishment.
- Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, utensils, and food preparation areas.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products following food safety guidelines.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Support kitchen operations by assisting team members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need as a Banquets Cook 2
Experience
- 1+ year of experience in a banquet, hotel, catering, or restaurant kitchen preferred.
Education
- Secondary School Diploma preferred.
- Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent.
Other Qualifications
- Passion for preparing quality food and delivering excellent guest service.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and food safety practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow direction.
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Completion of Public Health Food Handler Certification considered an asset.
- Must be able to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
