Discovery Organics is hiring a full time Quality Control & Receiving Team Member to join the warehouse team.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Receive & quality check all incoming orders to Discovery
- Assess and quality check all fresh produce on a daily basis
- Receive and maintain inventory in Silver Creek program
- Process & submit claim reports when necessary
- Receive and process customer returns
- Coordinate with weekly donation recipients
- Uphold quality of Discovery’s produce standards
- Maintain a pest control log and liaise with pest control agency if and when necessary
Required Qualifications:
- Must be detail oriented & have good visual inspection ability
- Able and willing to work in a fast paced warehouse environment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize time sensitive tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Reliable & collaborative worker in either a team or individually
- Fluent in English – both written and verbal
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook365
- Experience in a warehouse and/or with fresh produce
- Food Safe Level 1 is an asset, but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs from floor level to standing position
- Spend the majority of an 8 hour shift on your feet
- Able to work in cold cooler temperatures (35F – 50F)
- Ability to compost produce when necessary
Shift Availability:
- Day shift (hours of operation: 7am – 6pm)
- Weekend availability is required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
