Job Description:
Tumble Jumble Racket is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Tennis and Squash Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will work primarily with children of various ages and skill levels—from beginners to competitive players—and will also run adult classes during daytime hours. Our mission is to provide fun, safe, and professional racket sport instruction that inspires a lifelong passion for the game.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, lead, and evaluate tennis and squash lessons for children and adults.
Teach fundamental techniques, game strategies, and proper sportsmanship.
Prepare advanced students for local competitions and tournaments.
Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback and encouragement.
Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
Maintain equipment and court setup before and after sessions.
Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff.
Schedule:
Monday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Qualifications:
Proven coaching experience in tennis and/or squash, especially with children.
Certification in tennis or squash instruction is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work weekends and follow the scheduled hours consistently.
A passion for youth development and sports.
Secondary (high) school graduation certification or higher
Benefits:
Paid Vacation: Minimum of 2 weeks per year (4% vacation pay), increasing with length of service.
Statutory Holidays: Paid time off or statutory holiday pay for all recognized BC statutory holidays.
Sick Leave: Up to 5 paid sick days per year after 90 consecutive days of employment.
Overtime Pay: Time and a half for any time worked over 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week, in accordance with BC employment standards.
Probation Period: Standard 3-month probation period applies.
