Working closely with our IT Helpdesk Technician and external IT provider, The Junior IT Support Technician will be responsible for helpdesk-style support across all our offices. With ongoing mentorship, training, and exposure to a wide range of technologies, you'll play an important role in keeping our teams connected and productive.
This is a 6 month contract role and the person will be required to be in-person 3-4 days a week.
This role is based at our Head Office and includes regular travel to our regional offices to provide hands-on technical support.
Tasks & Duties
- Troubleshoot day-to-day IT issues in a helpdesk style manner
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding of employees as required
- Assist in managing M365 Licenses including researching license costs and communicate such items to the IT Helpdesk Technician and Partner, VP of Operations
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Access management of user groups, distribution lists, shared mailboxes and SharePoint files/folders.
- Assist with administration and monitoring of Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Defender, Intune, and other IT management portals.
- Assist to review systems such as AppRiver and Microsoft Defender by releasing and blocking emails from quarantine queues.
- Troubleshoot issues related M365 applications, QuickBooks, Cheque Scanners and Summit Hosting.
- Assist to research new hardware and software pricing and purchases for users’ computers and phones
- Creating Avaya Cloud Office telephones licenses and profiles.
- Assist in creating any how-to instructions for programs such as security system, phone, common IT issues, etc.
- Working on larger projects as directed by IT Helpdesk Technician (Server room projects, expansion projects etc.)
- Set up and configure laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and other IT equipment.
- Repair and replace employee & agent computers, hardware, software and peripherals as required
- Assist with the annual review of the Lennard minimum computer specifications document
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners in all offices
- Monitoring security access of offices by administering Kantech and Atrium systems
- Organizing all access information for IT services and programs
- Organizing and tracking all employee computers, warranties, and performance
- Research and test new technology
- Maintain accurate records of completed and pending jobs for invoicing purposes
- Assist with the annual review of all services & technology for insurance purposes
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be a skilled communicator with excellent customer service skills, verbally and written
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and work within tight deadlines
- Must be detailed oriented
- Will be able to follow directions, verbally and written
- Will be able to work in a team environment
- Has a desire to grow, learn, and take on new skills
- Driver’s License and vehicle an asset

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
