What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Consultant, Oracle Database (Multitenant - CDB/PDB) you will play a key role within CIBC’s Cloud Engineering and Transformation team, driving the design, build, and optimization of enterprise Oracle database environments. This is a highly hands-on role focused on Oracle RAC and multitenant (CDB/PDB) architecture, where you will lead implementation, configuration, and modernization initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience of mission-critical database platforms. You will partner with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to deliver scalable solutions while supporting the bank’s transition to multitenant environments. As an Oracle SME, you will bring deep technical expertise and ownership across database engineering initiatives.

How you’ll succeed
Engineering Expertise – Lead end-to-end implementation of Oracle RAC environments, including installation, configuration, clustering, and optimization.
Multitenant Architecture – Drive adoption and management of Oracle multitenant (CDB/PDB) databases, including consolidation and lifecycle management.
High Availability – Design and maintain Data Guard, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Performance Optimization – Diagnose and resolve complex database issues using AWR, ASH, and advanced tuning techniques.
Ownership – Operate as a hands-on SME responsible for database environments end-to-end, beyond traditional production support.
Collaboration – Partner with infrastructure, cloud, and vendor teams to deliver reliable and scalable database solutions.
Who you are
You can demonstrate 7+ years of hands-on. Oracle database engineering experience, including RAC installation and configuration. You have strong experience with Oracle multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB) and database consolidation strategies. You bring expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and backup/recovery within high-availability environments. You can demonstrate advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities using Oracle diagnostic tools. You have experience working in mission-critical production environments with strong ownership and accountability. Exposure to Azure or cloud-based database environments is considered an asset.
