FabHR’s client is a precision CNC machining company specializing in complex, high-accuracy components for advanced industries including aerospace, robotics, medical devices, and industrial equipment.
Its sales operation is based in Ottawa and consists of inside and outside sales specialists focused on developing long-term manufacturing customers across North America. It is building a modern, data-driven marketing and outbound sales engine to support this growth.
We are seeking a Sales Team Lead who can build and manage the outbound sales systems that support our client’s sales team.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for managing the outbound sales team, developing the prospecting process, and supporting the sales team with structure, accountability, and reporting.
You will work directly with company leadership, the marketing team, and the sales team to identify companies likely to outsource precision machining and convert qualified opportunities into long-term manufacturing customers.
This role combines sales leadership, pipeline management, and outbound sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Team Leadership
- Manage and coach the inside and outside sales team
- Set activity expectations for calls, conversations, follow-up, and opportunity generation
This team operates in a structured outbound environment where inside sales representatives typically generate approximately 100–125 outbound calls per day and 20–30 conversations with engineering or purchasing contacts.
- Provide call coaching and support development of sales skills and messaging
- Conduct regular pipeline and performance reviews with the sales team
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing accountability for the sales team
Sales Process & Pipeline Management
- Define and maintain the outbound sales process from prospecting through RFQ generation
- Manage pipeline visibility and stage discipline within HubSpot
- Ensure consistent tracking of contacts, conversations, and opportunities
Outbound Sales Strategy
- Work with the marketing team to define ideal customer profiles and target industries
- Help prioritize high-value accounts and industry verticals
- Analyze sales results to refine messaging and improve targeting
Opportunity Development
- Support the sales team in building relationships with engineering and purchasing contacts
- Assist in moving qualified opportunities toward RFQ generation and production programs
- Participate in strategic customer discussions when required
Sales Analytics & Reporting
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards within HubSpot
- Track outbound activity, opportunity development, and customer acquisition metrics
- Report sales performance to senior management
Sales Team Support
- Support the inside and outside sales team with structure, coaching, and prioritization
- Help coordinate marketing, prospecting, and pipeline activity across the team
- Support a high-activity outbound sales team generating hundreds of calls per week
- Assist in developing targeted outreach strategies
Required Skills
- Experience leading or managing B2B sales teams
- Experience working with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce
- Strong understanding of outbound sales processes and pipeline management
- Strong analytical, organizational, and coaching skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B industrial sales or contract manufacturing
- Experience selling technical manufacturing services or engineered products
- Experience managing outbound prospecting teams
- Familiarity with RFQ-based sales environments
- Experience building structured outbound sales systems
