Mechanical Design Engineer
Newmarket, Ontario
$70,000–$75,000 annual salary plus benefits and growth opportunities
Responsibilities
- Create conceptual layouts, preliminary sketches, and new product designs, while also updating, revising, and approving production drawings.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on value engineering initiatives and cost-saving projects.
- Apply previous experience with pneumatic and conveyor systems, including performing basic structural calculations.
- Prepare and edit operator manuals, including exploded-view illustrations and technical documentation.
- Develop mechanical and pneumatic schematics, along with bills of materials (BOMs).
- Assist with troubleshooting, quality assurance activities, and ongoing development related to packaging machinery technologies.
Qualifications
- A Mechanical Engineering Degree with 3–5 years of related experience, or a Mechanical Engineering Diploma with 5–7 years of relevant industry experience, is required.
- Proficiency with current versions of AutoCAD, Inventor, and Creo 8.0 is essential.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are required.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes, including OSHA and CSA, is considered an asset.
- Ability to efficiently evaluate and review designs to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
- A proactive mindset with a strong focus on innovative and practical engineering solutions.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
